A devoted follower of the popular role-playing game Baldur's Gate 3 has expressed their affection for their preferred tiefling warrior Karlach by painting a real Karlach figurine. The work apparently required more than eighty hours to finish, and the Baldur's Gate 3 community commended it for its meticulousness.

The entire release of Baldur's Gate 3 seemed to take over the public's mind, garnering attention and winning major awards shows in 2023. This caused developer Larian Studios to take the gaming world by storm. Baldur's Gate 3 took home so many awards that year that a lot of players now rank it among the best role-playing games ever made. The characters are the heart of that allure, as players can battle beside, fall in love with, or even clash with the diverse personalities of the primary cast in Baldur's Gate 3. Using characters like Shadowheart or Karlach as a protagonist instead of a personalized hero, players can even take on the pre-constructed story of one of the party members thanks to Larian's "Origin Character" feature.

Baldur's Gate 3 gained a lot of admirers thanks to the characters' centrality in the tale. One such fan is hobbyist Jleefish Studios, who shared his painting of a Karlach miniature with the game's community. The work is of a caliber that sets it apart from other homages to the characters in Baldur's Gate 3. Jleefish also provided a detailed video on his approach that was posted on their YouTube page.

Jleefish stated in their process video that Karlach is his favorite character because of her combativeness, comedy, and distinct take on life. Before beginning to paint, Jleefish assembled an unpainted 3D printed miniature that he had purchased from Bulkamancer, a 3D modeler, on Etsy. Karlach's features, especially her big horns, distinctive breast patterning, and the web of burn scars on her right side, are striking even in the absence of color. Because the figure's eyes were so tiny that they could barely fit on the tip of a ballpoint pen, Jleefish had extra difficulty coloring them in.

The intricacy in Karlach's in-game model was expertly captured by Jleefish, to the admiration of the Baldur's Gate 3 fan community. One of the several axes in Baldur's Gate 3, the weapon has received special attention from some aficionados. The axe was the main focus of the model and warranted special attention, therefore Jleefish employed a specific painting method called "non-metallic metal" to mimic the distinctive patterns of Damascus smithing patterns on it.

The ardor of fan movement surrounding Baldur's Gate 3 is evidence of Larian's success in winning over players. Given that the company is formally quitting DLC and expansions, any developer who answers Hasbro's request for a sequel will have a challenging task ahead of it.
