All You Need To Know About Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024

An offline Counter-Strike 2 competition called Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 is being held in Chengdu at the Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre. This competition, which is jointly hosted by VSPO and ESL, has a $250,000 USD prize fund. It started on  8th April 2024, and ends on 14th April 2024. There are sixteen teams taking part in this tournament in total. Let's look at the specifics of this competition.

Chengdu 2024 Intel Extreme Masters Format 

There will be two double-elimination style (GSL) groups in the group stage. In each group there will be eight teams.. The opening games will follow a best of one series format. The remaining games will be best of three series. 

The top three clubs from each group advance to the postseason. The winners of the group round will move on to the semifinals. The group stage runners up go to the quarterfinals as the High Seeds. In the quarterfinals, the teams that finished third in their group will take on the role of the Low Seeds.

All matches will be played in best of three series and Playoffs will be held in single-elimination bracket.

During the playoffs, G2 Esports won 2 – 0 against Virtus.pro in the quarter finals and FaZe Clan won 1 – 0 against Team Liquid.

In the semifinals MOUZ will compete against G2 Esports.

Prize Pool

With a $250,000 USD total prize pool, the event offers the following distribution:

The winner will get a $100,000 prize and be eligible to compete at IEM Cologne in 2024. 

The team in second place will get $42,000. 

Each of the third and fourth place winners will receive $20,000. 

$10,000 will be awarded to the finishers in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
 
The holders of the seventh and eighth positions will receive $6,000 each.
 
Each of the ninth through twelfth place winners will get $5,000 each.

The winners in positions thirteen through sixteen will receive $4,000 each.
