The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), the most successful area in the League of Legends esports (LoL Esports) world, will return for the LCK Spring 2024 season. The LCK stated last year that the playoffs for each split will be double-elimination, a major departure from previous model. Riot Games just announced changes to the League of Legends Esports ecosystem, so every split of the season will be extremely important this year. Although Riot Games altered the Worlds and Mid Season Invitational (MSI) formats in 2023, it stated that it intended to keep raising the bar for international competitions. This year has also seen the merging of Worlds and MSI. Three base spots for Worlds 2024 are awarded to LCK, one of the four major regions in the world. If the LCK raises the MSI trophy, this will rise to four.
