In a shocking turn of events, Apex Legends pro Mac “Albralelie” Beckwith has announced a hiatus after a five years of journey. The pro player cited “toxic fanbase" as the primary reason behind this hiatus.

At the age of 23, Albralelie declared his intention to step away from professional Apex competition following the upcoming Sunday, signaling a shift towards nurturing his mental well-being. His decision stemmed from the escalating toxicity he encountered over recent years, tarnishing both his streaming environment and his perception of the competitive circuit.

Acknowledging the toll exacted by the acerbic atmosphere cultivated by certain segments of the competitive viewer base, Albralelie lamented the degradation of his mental health and the transformation of his chat space into a breeding ground for negativity. Expressing a poignant reminder of his humanity amidst the relentless scrutiny, he underscored the need for empathy and understanding.

While Albralelie intends to continue streaming Apex, his primary focus now pivots towards reclaiming the joy of gaming—a facet he believes has been overshadowed by the demands of competition. Furthermore, he aspires to foster greater community engagement, exploring avenues such as critiquing clips, conducting live coaching sessions, and curating modest-scale tournaments.

Having clinched nine championships during his illustrious tenure, Albralelie has emerged as a revered figure within the Apex domain, commanding a sizable following. The announcement of his sabbatical elicited an outpouring of support from fellow players across social media platforms, with many expressing solidarity with his decision while others voiced unwavering confidence in his eventual resurgence, poised to defy detractors with renewed vigor
