OG has proven itself to be the best Western European team (WEU) in recent weeks as they qualified for Betboom Dachha Dubai.  Additionally, they are also likely to earn a spot in Dreamleague Season 22. Position four player Matthew "Ari" Walker who joined the team just a few weeks ago, discussed playing with Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and Adrián "Wisper" Dobles following one of the team’s recent series victories. As Ari said, Ceb has taken on the role of a sort of “dad” figure for the players at OG because of his stature and experience. However, Ari explained how he still manages to communicate with Wisper inspite of their language barrier.

Ari on laning with Wisper and Ceb as OG’s father figure

In the post-match winner's interview, Ari was asked about Ceb's role as the lone senior player on a relatively young team after winning a series at BetBoom Dacha.

"Ceb is the team's version of a father figure. Although he may not want to be referred to as such, that is how things turn out for the most part. When you turn to wisdom and experience, some young men may not want to prepare drafts or may not wake up on time, among other things. Yes, it is a little bit like that.”

Ceb, who is 31 years old and has played competitively for over ten years, probably has more top-tier Dota 2 experience than any other player on the team. The average age of the four players who are left is a mere twenty.

As part of OG's roster rotation following TI12, Ari and Wisper were added to the team, continuing the tradition of the team to believe in its younger and developing players.

After a difficult season in which OG failed to qualify for The International for the first time ever, the team is off to a great start in the 2024 competitive season. With the goal of making a strong comeback at the LAN events in February 2024, the team's attention will be on participating in more ranked games and scrims as the approaching month draws near.
