Tournament Format

The PMGC 2023 will feature a comprehensive format, with four key stages:

Group Stage (November 2nd - 19th, 2023): This phase sees 48 teams divided into three groups of 16, each playing exclusively in a specific week. With six matches per matchday, totaling 24 matches per week, the top three teams from each group secure direct entry to the Grand Finals, while the teams ranking 4th to 11th advance to the Survival Stage. The bottom five teams from each group face elimination.

Survival Stage (November 22nd - 24th, 2023): In this stage, 24 teams split into three groups of eight play six matches daily over three days in a round-robin format. The top 16 teams proceed to the Last Chance stage, and the bottom eight teams are eliminated.

Last Chance (November 25th - 26th, 2023): Here, 16 teams compete over 12 matches, with the top five teams securing their spots in the Grand Finals, while the remaining 11 teams are eliminated.

Grand Finals (December 8th - 10th, 2023): The pinnacle of the championship, featuring the nine direct qualifiers from the group stage, five qualifiers from the Last Chance stage, and two special invite teams. These 16 teams will battle it out over three days to crown the PMGC 2023 champion.
