In a surprising twist of events, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, a renowned figure in the esports world, is making a comeback to VALORANT after a hiatus that saw him excel in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). This comeback isn't just about any team; it's about M80, a second-tier VALORANT squad that's making waves in the competitive scene.

M80 to Reportedly Sign Nitr0, koalanoob, zander, and nism0 to its VALORANT roster

Nitr0's return to VALORANT was revealed by Max Katz, a well-known VALORANT journalist, through a tweet that sent shockwaves through the esports community. This move signifies a new chapter in nitr0's storied career, marking his first venture back into the Riot Games shooter since his departure in 2021.

Before stepping into the VALORANT arena, nitr0 had an illustrious run with Team Liquid in CS:GO from 2016 to 2019. With Team Liquid, he achieved substantial success, particularly in 2019 when the squad secured five major titles, including the prestigious Intel Extreme Masters XIV in Chicago.

Nitr0's versatile gameplay was a hallmark of his career. During his tenure with 100 Thieves in VALORANT, he primarily took on the role of a smoker but demonstrated his adaptability when needed. One memorable moment was when he faced off against one of the world's top duelists, cNed, during Masters Berlin in 2021. Down 12-7 on the final map, he turned the tide by eliminating cNed's Operator and putting it to devastating use.

However, this impressive stint in VALORANT was short-lived as he soon made the decision to return to both Team Liquid and his original esport, CS:GO. The return to his roots was fruitful, as nitr0, often referred to as "Captain America" for his numerous esports accomplishments, helped Team Liquid secure second place at the BLAST Premier World Final at the end of the 2022 CS:GO season.

In early 2023, after an early exit from IEM Dallas, nitr0 made the announcement that he would focus on streaming and contemplate his future in esports.

Fast forward to the present, and nitr0 is back in the esports arena, this time returning to VALORANT with M80. The team has showcased its potential in the second-tier VALORANT scene, despite narrowly missing out on franchising opportunities to The Guard. With a core group of players committed to helping nitr0 integrate into their squad, M80 has set their sights on dominating tier two VALORANT and securing championship victories.
