The highlight of this transformative venture is the rebranding of the CDL team, now emerging as the Miami Heretics, emblematic of their partnership. The revamped CDL roster will feature a dynamic lineup of players, blending experience and fresh talent. Retaining Vikul, the lone Spanish player from the Mutineers, the Miami Heretics are also set to welcome countrymen Alejandro “Lucky” López, Adrian “MettalZ” Serrano, and Juan “JurNii” Antonio González Muñoz. EriKBooM and coach Jorge “MethodZ” Bancells further round out the team's new formation.

With the 2024 CDL season on the horizon, excitement lingers as fans anticipate the official four-man starting lineup for the Miami Heretics. While the exact configuration remains undisclosed, the blend of proven skills and emerging potential sets a promising stage for the team's performance in the upcoming season.

The path to this pivotal collaboration has seen its share of twists and turns. Amidst initial anticipation since May, doubts emerged during the wait due to trademarks for the new team name appearing abandoned in July. However, a resolution was reached between Heretics and Misfits Gaming Group, the owners of the Mutineers, cementing a deal that marks the second engagement between the two entities in just over a year.

Team Heretics had temporarily withdrawn from the Call of Duty competitive scene following the 2019 season. Their decision coincided with the transition from the expansive Call of Duty World League to the more exclusive CDL, which accommodates 12 high-profile franchises. Reflecting on the CDL journey, the Florida Mutineers achieved notable milestones during the inaugural 2020 season but faced subsequent challenges, missing out on subsequent CDL Championship tournaments.
