In an exciting development, esports has found its place in the prestigious Asian Games 2023 to be held in Hangzhou, China. Among the nations ready to showcase their gaming prowess, India stands tall, eager to compete alongside other squads. As a nation with a burgeoning esports scene, India aims to make a resounding impact on the global stage, building upon its recent success at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

All Indian Esports Contingents for Asian Games 2023

Indian esports athletes are set to participate in four out of the seven esports events featured at the Asian Games 2023. The selected titles include Street Fighter V, Dota 2, League of Legends, and FIFA. With an impressive track record in competitive gaming, India's teams have already proven their mettle in the run-up to the games.

The nation's esports journey has been nothing short of a meteoric rise, gaining prominence only in recent times. However, this newfound recognition comes with a spotlight on India's esports contingent, as they prepare to demonstrate their skills and passion for gaming on an international platform.

Street Fighter V:

Street Fighter V will see representation from two of India's finest athletes, Mayank Prajapati and Ayan Biswas. Both players displayed exceptional skill during the National Esports Championships, with Mayank triumphing over his compatriot in an intense showdown. Their selection for the Asian Games roster is well-deserved, and they are expected to put on a spectacular display in Hangzhou.

League of Legends:

League of Legends, a massively popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, will see a formidable Indian team taking the stage. Led by captain Akshaj Shenoy, the squad secured their spot after emerging victorious against Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan during a challenging seeding event held in Macau. With an undefeated streak backing them, the League of Legends team is ready to face fierce competition and aim for a podium finish.

Dota 2

Dota 2, another renowned title in the esports world, has its roster led by captain Darshan Bata. Comprising Krish Gupta, Abhishek Yadav, Ketan Goyal, and Shubham Goli, the team exhibits a wealth of talent and potential. Despite facing some controversies with the Esports Federation of India last year, the team's bronze medal win at the Commonwealth Games 2022 highlights their capabilities. As they head to Hangzhou, they are determined to overcome challenges and achieve further success.

FIFA Online 4

FIFA Online 4, the esports version of the popular soccer game, also boasts two prominent names in the Indian esports circuit - Charanjot Singh and Karman Singh Tikka. These skilled players will compete in a seeding event in Seoul, South Korea, vying for a favorable position in the tournament. Their dedication and competitive spirit have already earned them a spot on the Asian Games 2023 roster.
