Valorant players around the world are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Patch 7.0, which promises to introduce exciting new features and gameplay changes. Set to coincide with the launch of Episode 7 Act 1, this highly anticipated update will bring a fresh wave of content to the popular tactical shooter. Let's delve into the highlights of Valorant Patch 7.0.

Valorant Patch 7.0 Highlights

New Agent Deadlock

The headline addition in this patch is the introduction of a new agent known as Deadlock. Hailing from Norway, Deadlock possesses a fascinating backstory that intertwines with the existing character Sova. Her unique abilities include the following:

  • Barrier Mesh (E)

Deadlock will equip a Barrier Mesh disk, which can be launched by using the Fire button. When it touches the ground, it creates an energy barrier that blocks players from entering the area.

  • Sonic Sensor (Q)

Deadlock launches a sensor that monitors an area for sounds. Whenever there are footsteps or heavy gunfire where the trap has been deployed, it detonates, concussing everyone caught in its radius.

  • GravNet (C)

This ability allows Deadlock to launch a grenade that transforms into a net. The grenade detonates when it touches the ground. Any enemy caught within its area of effect is forced to crouch while moving                 and is slowed down.

  • Annihilation (X)

Deadlock's ultimate can affect single targets only. When triggered, the Agent will release a wave of nanowires that captures the first enemy they hit and wraps them inside a cocoon. This captured enemy is

pulled back and will die if the wires reach their point of origin. The only way to nullify it is by destroying the cocoon.

New Game Progression System

Patch 7.0 also brings exciting updates to the game's progression system. Players can now look forward to a revamped Daily Rewards feature, which offers a more rewarding experience. The introduction of the Checkpoint Track allows players to earn XP and a new in-game currency called Kingdom Credits as they progress through each checkpoint. Unlocking agents has also undergone a significant change with the introduction of Agent Recruitment Events. These events require players to complete specific objectives and gather XP within a designated timeframe to unlock new agents. Alternatively, players can acquire agents directly using VP during the event or with Kingdom Credits once the event concludes. Additionally, reaching Level 5 now rewards players with a flat amount of Kingdom Credits instead of unlocking an agent.

Agent Gear system

To further enhance player customization, Patch 7.0 introduces the Agent Gear system. This system offers cosmetic items and unique weapon skins tailored to each agent. Players can obtain these items through gameplay or opt to purchase them using VP or Kingdom Credits. Furthermore, the newly added Accessory Store provides an opportunity for players to use their Kingdom Credits to acquire cosmetic items from previous battle passes, including Player Cards, Sprays, Titles, and Gun Buddies.

Bug Fixes

In addition to these exciting additions, Patch 7.0 addresses several bug fixes to improve overall gameplay. Issues related to the Spray Wheel, account region purchases, bullet tracers visibility during the Buy Phase, and agent-specific abilities such as Chamber's Rendezvous, Yoru's Gatecrash, Omen's From the Shadows, Cypher's Spycam, Sage's Barrier Orb, Killjoy's Alarmbot, and Reyna's Devour have been rectified.

Valorant Patch 7.0, accompanied by Episode 7 Act 1, is set to be released on June 27th. Players can also anticipate the launch of a captivating new battle pass, featuring three weapon skinlines and a range of enticing cosmetic items to further personalize their in-game experience.
