Gaimin Gladiators has emerged as the champions of DreamLeague S20. With this victory, it has emerged as the uncontested powerhouse in the competitive Dota 2 scene, claiming their fourth consecutive tier 1 title. The team's path to victory was riddled with challenges, including a formidable opponent in the grand finals, BetBoom Team, who had previously bested them three times in a row. Against all odds, Gaimin defied expectations, clinching a thrilling 3-2 victory in one of the year's most fiercely contested battles.

DreamLeague S20 Grand Finals: Gaimin Gladiators vs BetBoom Recap

The grand finals between Gaimin Gladiators and BetBoom Team unfolded with intensity and strategic prowess. In the first game, Gaimin faced initial setbacks during an attempted early base push, but a pivotal teamfight near the Roshan pit turned the tide in their favor, ultimately leading to their triumph after 44 minutes of grueling gameplay.

BetBoom Team responded fiercely in the second game, showcasing a superior roster that dominated the laning stage and maintained sustained damage output. Despite Gaimin's valiant efforts to defend their high ground, BetBoom secured victory after a tense 37-minute battle.

Game three witnessed BetBoom's overwhelming dominance as they dismantled Gaimin's mid Dragon Knight and carry Shadow Fiend lineup. Led by Gpk on Storm Spirit, BetBoom secured numerous kills and closed out the game in just 28 minutes, leaving Gaimin with only two kills to their name.

Undeterred, Gaimin rallied in the fourth game, capitalizing on strategic movements led by Quinn's Storm Spirit. BetBoom's lack of damage, single-target orientation, and flawed itemization worked in Gaimin's favor. Although a lost teamfight briefly threatened their victory, Gaimin regrouped swiftly and sealed the game after 37 minutes of intense action.

The deciding fifth game showcased a masterful draft from Gaimin, presenting a potent laning lineup. Despite BetBoom's valiant resistance against a formidable Huskar, Medusa, and Broodmother composition, Gaimin maintained their composure and orchestrated a teamwipe during a crucial push, securing victory after 34 minutes of heart-stopping gameplay.

Although lacking in superstar players or massive fan bases, their determination and skill have earned them well-deserved recognition. With key events such as The International 12 and the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2023 already in their sights, Gaimin aims to continue their winning streak as they head to Bali for the year's third and final Major.

Meanwhile, BetBoom Team, despite a history of unfulfilled potential, demonstrated their laning prowess in DreamLeague S20, securing a commendable second place and a spot in the prestigious Riyadh Masters 2023. As both teams prepare for Bali, BetBoom has an even greater incentive to perform exceptionally well, as they seek to accumulate Dota Pro Circuit points, secure a place in the top 12 standings, and earn a direct invite to The International 12.
