In an intense battle for the last qualifying spot in Group Stage 2 of Dreamleague Season 20, Evil Geniuses (EG) showcased its mettle and emerged victorious after a series of nail-biting tiebreaker matches. With a massive prize pool of $1,000,000 USD and two slots for the prestigious Riyadh Masters 2023 up for grabs, the competition reached fever pitch in Group A.

EG Emerges Victorious in Dreamleague Season 20 Tiebreakers

Team Secret, Tundra Esports, and EG were locked in a fierce struggle to secure the fourth position. Team Secret surprised fans with their impressive run, almost clinching a spot in Group Stage 2. Despite their earlier struggles in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2023 Tour 3: Division I, the team's new addition of Saieful "Fbz" Ilham seemed to have made a positive impact.

Tundra Esports, who finished first in the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I, also entered the fray with high expectations. However, the team faced setbacks, partly due to playing with stand-ins Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak and Aleksandr "Immersion" Khmelevskoi. Their performance may have been affected by the absence of regular players Leon "Nine" Kirilin and Martin "Saksa" Sazdov.

The initial tiebreaker match witnessed Tundra Esports triumphing over Team Secret, bringing them one step closer to securing a spot in Group Stage 2. However, their momentum was short-lived when they encountered the relentless EG in the subsequent match.

EG, determined and focused, shattered the dreams of both Tundra Esports and Team Secret by defeating them consecutively in the final tiebreaker match. Their back-to-back victories propelled them into the coveted fourth position, earning them a rightful place in Group Stage 2.

As the dust settled, the qualified teams for Group Stage 2 in Dreamleague Season 20 were confirmed. In Group A, EG joined the ranks of formidable competitors, alongside Team Spirit, PSG.LGD, and Talon Esports. Group B had already locked in its four qualified teams: 9Pandas, BetBoom, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Aster.
