Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 May 16 Update Highlights

Following are the highlights of the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 May 16 Update:

Weapon Balancing:

The latest update introduces important weapon balancing adjustments, particularly focusing on handguns. In Warzone 2 and Warzone 2.0 modes, specific changes have been made to the damage statistics of several handguns. Close-range headshot armor damage has been reduced for the GS Magna and X13 Auto, including their Akimbo variants. Furthermore, minimum armor damage has been added for certain Akimbo variants, optimizing the gameplay experience for players who prefer close-quarters combat.

Bug Fixes:

The developers have also dedicated efforts to address various bugs and issues encountered by players. General bug fixes include resolving an issue that caused players to be incorrectly removed from matches for inactivity and fixing missing visual effects on the Toxicant Blueprint in the Tracer Pack: Poison Bundle. The update also eliminates screen flickering while inspecting Battle Pass Weapon Blueprints with the Auto On option selected and resolves the issue of players getting stuck on the "Fetching Online Profile" screen when trying to inspect social notifications.

Battle Royale and Ranked Play Improvements:

In the battle royale mode, an issue that allowed players to generate Lethal Equipment at a higher rate than intended has been rectified. Moreover, improvements have been made to the ranked play system, resolving issues such as eliminated squad members receiving SR for unassisted enemy eliminations and preventing ineligible players from using the Looking for Party feature.

DMZ Enhancements:

In the DMZ episode, the latest update fixes issues related to the White Lotus Faction Mission, ensuring proper tracking of the "Pick up 1 Weapon in a Deployment" objective. Dead-dropping certain items, such as Heartbeat Sensors, will no longer reward excessive cooldown reduction and XP. Furthermore, free-to-play players will no longer be redirected to the front menu when attempting to view the Crown Faction missions tab.
