In a recent matchup in the Valorant Challengers League (VCL) 2023: South Asia (SA) Split 2, Orangutan Gaming defeated Revenant Esports with a 2-0 scoreline. Both teams put forth an incredible performance and showcased an intense competition, but Orangutan Gaming maintained its consistency. This marks Orangutan Gaming’s sixth win in the VCL SA Split 2 without bearing a single loss.
VCL SA Split 2: Orangutan Gaming vs Revenant Esports Recap
The map veto process for the match between Orangutan Gaming and Revenant Esports saw Revenant ban Pearl, and Orangutan ban Lotus. Revenant then picked Bind, while Orangutan picked Haven. Revenant then banned Ascent, and Orangutan banned Split, leaving Fracture as the decider final map.
Map No. 1: Bind
In the first map Bind, Orangutan Gaming won the pistol round and the following anti-eco round. However, Revenant Esports fought back and made a comeback, winning seven rounds in a row. Revenant Esports managed to close the first half in its favor with a scoreline of 8-4. In the second half, Orangutan Gaming won the second pistol round and the following anti-eco round as well. Orangutan Gaming maintained its form and won the map with a scoreline of 13-11.
Map No. 2: Haven
Moving on to the second map Haven, Revenant Esports won the pistol round and the following anti-eco round. However, Orangutan Gaming won its full buy round and the next round to equalize the score at 2-2. After some back-and-forth rounds, the half ended at 6-6. In the second half, Revenant Esports won the pistol round as well as the anti-eco round, but Orangutan Gaming won four following rounds in a row, taking the lead at 10-8. Orangutan Gaming closed the second map with a 13-10 scoreline.

With its fourth win, Orangutan Gaming has become the first and the only team so far to qualify for the Playoffs. It will be interesting to see if the team defends the title to its name.
