The turn-based first-person shooter will be pulled from sale on 11th April. On the game’s Steam page, it is written by Frontier and developer Ratloop Games that they want to thank Lemnis Gate Community for their support to have joined them for many incredible rounds in the loop.

They are really happy to see the passion for the game in them, the strategies they created and the way they embraced this innovative twist on the FPS genre. Lemnis Gate is an ambitious project that they are happy to bring to life and at the same time, they are sad to share this news.

Ratloop Games’ sci-fi shooter Lemnis Gate will end its service in the summer. From 11th April, 2023 Lemnis Gate will be removed from sale on all platforms. They said that they will keep the multiplayer servers online so that the users can continue to enter the loop until 11th July, 2023 after which it will be closed. Though Ratloop did not give an explanation for the shutdown, studios making live games have to find out whether it is worth it to keep a game up and running in relation to its earnings.

Console players will be able to access local multiplayer and training modes but the PC players won’t be able to play beyond that point.

Lemnis Gate features

Lemnis Gate is providing a take on the FPS genre which has a turn-based element. It consists of 1v1 and 2v2 arena matches and the game provides the players 25 seconds time to execute an action such as shooting an enemy or moving their character. After the players have taken turns, the next 25-second round starts immediately.

Awards won by the Lemnis Gate

Before Ratloop signed the deal with Frontier, Lemnis Gate already won the ‘best gameplay’ award from the Montreal Independent Game Awards 2019, and also an ‘outstanding original game’ nomination from the Unreal E3 Awards 2019.
