League of Legends players has been eagerly anticipating the return of the Essence Emporium, a bi-annual event that allows players to spend their accumulated Blue Essence on exclusive in-game items. However, the latest announcement from Riot Games, the developers of LoL, regarding the return of the Essence Emporium has left many players disappointed.
History of Essence Emporium
The Essence Emporium was first introduced in 2017 as a way for players to spend their Blue Essence, which is earned through playing games, on exclusive items such as summoner icons, ward skins, and chromas. The event typically occurs twice a year and lasts for a limited time, allowing players to stock up on these rare items before they disappear from the store.
However, Riot Games recently announced that the Essence Emporium would be returning, but with a major change. In previous iterations of the event, players were able to purchase chromas for their favorite champions using Blue Essence. Chromas are alternate color schemes for champion skins, allowing players to customize their appearance in-game.
Where will you find them this time?
Riot Games has stated that chromas will no longer be available for purchase using Blue Essence during the Essence Emporium. Instead, they will only be available for purchase using Riot Points, the premium currency in League of Legends that can only be purchased with real money.
This decision has not been well-received by the League of Legends community. Many players have expressed disappointment and frustration with Riot Games, as they feel that this change is a money grab and makes the game less accessible to those who cannot or choose not to spend money on in-game items.
Some players have also pointed out that Riot Games has been making other changes that favor players who spend money on the game, such as releasing more exclusive skins that are only available for purchase with Riot Points.
How to spend your spare Blue Essence?
League gamers have offered some intriguing methods to spend extra BE in response to GalaxySmash's statement. Examples include acquiring all additional rune pages, numerous clash tickets, or frequently changing your League Summoner Name. Some have said they would be open to trading BE provided Riot implemented gifting. Unfortunately, there are currently no details on when the emporium will reopen, so if you have a stockpile of BE and have been eagerly awaiting its return, you might want to use it on something else instead.
