In a game like Rainbow Six Siege, parity is crucial, and levelling the playing field for players is a key component of the game's design. The console version of the game is meant to be played on a controller, even if the PC community prefers using a mouse and keyboard. However, as M&K use is supported by both Xbox and PlayStation, some players have chosen to stack the deck in their favour and use a mouse's razor-sharp aim to gain an edge over the competitors throughout the game's lengthy history.

Leaked images from "lungu r6" have been posted online ahead of the full Rainbow Six Siege Operation Commanding Force reveal, which Ubisoft has scheduled for the middle of the upcoming Invitational on February 18. These images show precisely how Ubisoft will implement anti-cheat measures into Rainbow Six Siege on console by punishing keyboard and mouse players. As you can see for yourself down below, it appears that those who play Rainbow Six Siege on a console using a keyboard and mouse will experience an additional input lag penalty that increases over the course of multiple rounds.

Fans who may not be able to buy gaming PCs powerful enough to run Siege efficiently have expressed concern about the installation of a system like this, noting topics like accessibility settings and taking away M&K from gamers. If Ubisoft incorporates the system into the game, these doubts might eventually be resolved, but for the time being, gamers will only be left with conjecture. With the promise of "a new era" in the game, there's a chance those answers could emerge sooner rather than later. The Year 8 Reveal is taking place on Sunday, February 19.

Strangely, based on the leak, it appears that the input latency will only diminish "gradually" until a player resume using a controller. The Apex Legends ability should be added to Rainbow Six Siege in Y8S1, although we're not sure what to make of this. According to the responses to the leak, it appears that everyone agrees that this would improve Rainbow Six Siege on consoles. This is also one of the only solutions Ubisoft has because it can't forbid players from using these devices because they are supported by the system. We do, however, concur that this can be detrimental to users who must use a keyboard and mouse device to play or who simply prefer it to a gamepad
