Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include a brand-new map, which wasn’t initially anticipated. Some of the most recognisable maps in the history of shooter games may be found in the Call of Duty series. Many of them even originate from the eponymously titled 2009 Modern Warfare 2, and while fans desire some of those to be restored, there is a perception that Call of Duty currently relies too heavily on dated maps. The earlier games Shoot House and Shipment have both been added to the game, and this season also brings Dome, an old map, back. Museum was the only “new map” that had been previously confirmed; as such, it didn’t feel particularly novel.

The revised battle pass for Modern Warfare 2 continues to be organised into many sectors, spanning from B0 to B20. In both the free and premium tiers of the pass, there are more than 100 awards. Gamers who acquire the Season 2 battle pass will immediately have access to Daniel “Ronin” Shinoda, the season’s new operator who was first featured in Modern Warfare 2019. The operator also receives four additional things, including two weapon blueprints, a gun screen, and a 10% battle pass increase for quicker progress, in addition to unlocking Ronin’s basic skin.

The specifics of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are covered in a new blog post, but we’ve gathered all the most important new information for you here. Visit the Call of Duty website or click here to see the lengthy blog article if you want all the specifics. In summary, there are 2 “new” 6v6 maps (one was in the beta, the other is a remastered map), 7 new modes, including fan favourites like Infected and the beloved Gun Game, new weapons, cosmetics, and gameplay features, as well as a new Warzone 2 map called Ashika Island that also brings back the Resurgence mode.

There has been a lot of weapon balance in Season 2. The popular TAQ-V battle rifle was significantly weakened, while the M13B assault rifle was given a buff to do more upper-torso damage at mid-range. The TAQ-mid-range V’s damage, full-auto head damage, and semi-auto rate of fire have all been decreased. Another significant adjustment was made to the X13 pistol, which now has better damage profiles but less damage when used with the Akimbo variant
