Popular streamer and internet personality Herschel “DrDisRespect” Breahm has been banned by the streaming platform Twitch and this time it’s reported to be a permanent ban.He is one of the biggest streamers on the Amazon-owned platform, standing out from others due to his exaggerated character, in-game skills, and high production values. This is the second time Beahm has been banned from Twitch, with the first ban occurring after he livestreamed from a public restroom during E3 2019, a move that saw him receive a two week ban from the streaming platform. The streamer later apologized, saying they got caught up in the moment and simply didn’t think about the consequences of what they were doing.

On June 26th, the Streamer Bans Twitter account posted an update regarding the Doc's channel, confirming he was banned from Twitch at around 8 pm GMT. In a statement made to Polygon, Twitch didn't confirm the length of the ban nor the reasons, simply commenting that they "take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community."

Currently, his subs are being refunded, all Twitch emotes are removed, and his discord partnership nixed. While the reason and length of the ban are still unknown speculation has also arisen that it might be related to the current wave of sexual harrasment, abuse and assault allegations in the wider gaming community.

In accordance to its usual policy Twitch has not shared the reasons for banning DrDisRespect, their only statement so far has been a short message to Video Games Reporter Shannon Liao:

Dr. Disrespect has yet to say anything regarding the ban on his Twitter account, and Twitch has not made any statements either. According to Rod “Slasher” Breslau, who does tend to know interesting bits of information in the gaming industry, the ban is permanent. Once again, there is no confirmation of this from either Twitch or Dr. Disrespect himself.
