Valve made the decision to make the news ahead of time because The International 2022 is returning for its final phase. In addition to moving TI11 to a bigger stadium to accommodate a larger audience, it appears that extra content is also coming for Dota 2 fans watching at home according to a recent statement that a Cave Johnson announcer pack, voiced by the great J. K. Simmons, will be included. 

The majority of people are familiar with the actor J. Jonah Jameson from the Spider-Man films and video games, but he also played a key role in the Portal games as Cave Johnson, the main adversary of the two games and the founder of Aperture Science. The teaser began with a clip from four years ago of Kaci Aitchison and Slacks recording a collaborative announcer pack in the presence of an angry Gabe Newell. The two-fall asleep in the studio after noticing the doors are closed, and when they wake up in the present, they discover their announcement pack has been discarded. 

Even Gabe Newell was unaware of the problem, though, because the project's dependable assistant had left. G-Money had everything under control since he still needed to ask Cave Johnson for a favour, which involved Simmons. 

The Cave Johnson announcer pack was just the beginning of what Valve had planned for the second battle pass instalment. A new terrain was also alluded to throughout the show, and more information about the upcoming Diretide event was made available. Although TI11 had to contend with a lot of criticism and production flaws, Valve appears to be making progress with its ambition to carry The International's ethos into the remaining months of the year. Veterans and new players coming for TI11 and the tie-in Swag Bag will have additional stuff to explore in Dota as a result of this. 

The Cave Johnson Dota 2 announcer pack will be released on November 3 along with the Battle Pass: Part 2. Fans won't have to wait long. While fans of Portal who play Dota 2 are certainly looking forward to the voice pack, other people are curious about the release and its potential connections to recent Valve speculations. The most recent of them is that Valve might be developing Neon Prime, a Dota 2 spin-off, and Half-Life fans are curious about the rumoured Citadel project. Returning JK Simmons could imply that Cave Johnson will make an appearance in a subsequent Portal game, but Valve is keeping its plans very secret. Fans will have to wait until the corporation makes an official statement. Fans of Dota 2 will at least be able to enjoy the funny yet biting remarks made by Cave Johnson for the time being.
