The red diamond marker over enemy players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will be there at launch, reducing instances of player confusion. After fan annoyance during the Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta in September, this tweak has been hotly demanded.

One of the main issues during the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Beta was that it was difficult to distinguish between friends and foes. Players still struggled to distinguish between allies and enemies despite the map environment being more colourful than in the previous Call of Duty games due to the operators' use of more neutral colours. As a result, they either shot wildly at allies or failed to notice enemies and were caught off guard. Infinity Ward will introduce symbols to the multiplayer launch that would make gamers feel less nervous.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, enemies wear a red diamond above their heads to make it easier for players to distinguish between friends and foes. If the comments section of the r/ModernWarfare2 subreddit serves as a reliable sample size, players have generally welcomed this move. The red diamond in the image provided thereby u/sneakysaf stands out from the map sufficiently without being annoying or revealing a player's location, according to comments.

Infinity Ward is working to ensure that the fans enjoy a seamless launch day gameplay experience as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer is soon to be released. Even though certain suggestions for improvements to Modern Warfare 2 won't be made, Infinity Ward has been paying attention to community comments. This demonstrates that the developers are paying attention and will seriously explore changes if they believe it will benefit the players.

Small changes like this are beneficial to players, particularly those who enjoy Hardcore game modes with Friendly Fire enabled. Without this enemy icon, Modern Warfare 2 would launch without warning, which would result in more players receiving warnings or being kicked for disruptive behaviour, even if it wasn't their intention.
