On June 26, 2020, we got a tweet from the official Twitter handle of Dying Light (@DyingLightGame). This tweet was about the upcoming DLC for Dying Light called Hellraid. Here is the tweet:

From this tweet, we got to know about the release date for this upcoming DLC along with the platforms it is coming on. Dying  Light’s Hellraid DLC is releasing on July 23, 2020 and is going to be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. On top of that, it turns out that if you pre-order it now, you will be able to play the Beta for it this weekend. The weekend Beta will run from June 26, 2020 to June 29, 2020.

In the tweet, we also got a new gameplay trailer for Hellraid DLC. Just as the name suggests, it’s based on Hell. The trailer starts off with an arcade gaming machine displaying a portal to Hell, along with a text saying “INSERT SOUL” Once, we get in the portal, we are transferred to the Hell presumably. Our character is seen wielding a one-handed maul and fighting against several Hellish creatures. Along with the new types of enemies, we are also revealed bits of the new Hell.

Going through the official page, we come to know that this new DLC is based on the unreleased slasher game called Hellraid. Hellraid was developed by Techland, the same developer behind Dying Light. The arcade machine is the way to access this new mode. The page states “No one knows where the strange arcade machine came from. One day the residents of the Tower just found it in the basement after an odd power outage. They took it upstairs unaware that their find is a gateway to another realm. Shake up your Dying Light experience by using this eerie device to access a completely new game mode based on Techland’s unreleased first-person fantasy slasher Hellraid.”

Dying Light is an open-world, first-person survival action game. This game is playable both solo and in multiplayer with other players. It was developed by Techland and released on May 2015 for Linux, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Later in December 2016, it was made available for OS X as well.
