Microsoft's subscription service for next year or so looks incredibly packed in terms of its release calendar thanks to their excellent job of acquiring high-profile third-party titles for Game Pass, with both first- and third-party releases now in the works. Ark 2, a survival sequel from Studio Wildcard with Vin Diesel, is one of those games. How long can we anticipate Ark 2 to be available to subscribers? Of course, Game Pass has a rolling library where numerous games periodically leave, join, and rejoin the service.

It's still unknown whether the Ark: Survival Evolved sequel will ever appear on PlayStation 5, having recently been postponed until a 2023 release date, with only its PC and Xbox Series builds having been publicly confirmed. However, current data indicate that any announcement regarding a prospective PlayStation 5 Ark 2 release won't be happening any time soon.

According to a US Securities and Exchange Commission form, the parent firm of Studio Wildcard, the company that developed the game, already has a long-term license agreement in place with Microsoft. This information was discovered by Ark YouTuber GP. This document states that Xbox Game Pass will continue to provide Ark 2 after its first release for a full three years. Microsoft's Game Pass generated roughly $3 billion in revenue in 2021, making it a significant component of the company's ongoing video game strategy and potentially a very significant deal for the next dinosaur survival game. Although it is now obvious that Ark 2 will be available on Game Pass for a very long time, there has been no official announcement of a possible PlayStation 5 release of the game.

According to recent reports, Sony spent $3.5 million to add Ark: Survival Evolved to PlayStation Plus. Microsoft, on the other hand, paid $2.5 million to keep the game-on-Game Pass for just six months. The same source claims that adding Ark 2 as a day-one Game Pass release cost Microsoft $2.3 million, however, it's unclear if this figure includes the three years' worth of Game Pass access or just the first launch availability.

Ark: Survival Evolved is still one of the biggest, most comprehensive survival games available, and it won't be long before Ark 2 is available on Game Pass and in actual video game stores. Although Ark: Survival Evolved initially experienced some growing pains, it is currently an excellent option for people who want to immerse themselves in a futuristic ecology with roaming dinosaurs.
