Grand Theft Auto 5 has been played pacifistically for the greater part of three years, but in order to finish the story, the player still had to kill close to 100 people. Even though it was released almost ten years ago, Rockstar's fifth entry in its wildly popular genre remains one of the highest-grossing video games of all time and a mainstay for many in the community. But given the number of things players can see and do in the game, coupled with Grand Theft Auto Online, it is apparent that it has endured.

Of course, scandal is one issue that has garnered attention over the years. Many fans maintain that Grand Theft Auto offers more than just mindless shooting and murder, despite the series' detractors' persistent claims to the contrary. It took one YouTuber a good deal of time to experiment with the game and see if it was even feasible to finish GTA 5 without killing a single NPC. Undoubtedly, many gamers have asked whether it is possible to complete GTA 5 without killing a single NPC.

An online gamer known as DarkViperAU on YouTube has finally finished their three-year project in which they attempted to play Grand Theft Auto 5 in pacifist mode. They eventually succeeded in reaching the game's conclusion after lots of trial and error. However, they still had to kill 96 NPCs in order to complete the plot, which appears to be the minimal minimum. This most recent video demonstrates how challenging it is to complete missions without needing to kill a target or engage the police without using force. The player was not allowed to kill anyone during the run, and if an NPC had to be killed, they had to do so either with melee or their "weakest weapon," such as a pistol.

One such mission involves getting the AI to drive into water enough times to result in drowning as part of DarkViperAU's attempt to kill Mr. Cheng. One instance where the YouTuber was forced to use violence was when he murdered Steve Haines, one of GTA's most despised antagonists. Unfortunately, DarkViperAU had to use a pistol to dispatch Haines because he was moving about on a Ferris wheel and the player was unable to board in any way.

The YouTuber is well-known for their speed runs and challenges of Grand Theft Auto games, and they even made an attempt to finish GTA 5 without suffering any damage. Sadly, they failed to succeed in doing this, albeit a user by the name of UnNameD did. But it just goes to highlight how much more gamers can still accomplish in this game's expansive environment.
