FIFA 23 will be published on September 30 in all countries, and as that day approaches, EA Sports has made a number of specific announcements about the most recent game in the venerable series. 

The last game developed by EA Sports in cooperation with FIFA will be called FIFA 23, and subsequent games will be known as EA Sports FC. Fans have speculated on what this would imply for the series' future as well as the licensing rights. Juventus will be back in FIFA 23 along with brand-new domestic women's teams.

In 2019, EA Sports lost the right to utilise Juventus' official logo, uniforms, and club name. In FIFA 20, a placeholder squad called Piemonte Calcio with an identical lineup but a generic badge and uniforms took the place of the storied Italian club. But now that Juventus has been officially verified as a fully-licensed inclusion in FIFA 23, Piemonte Calcio's brief reign has come to an end, and the Italian League's legitimacy in FIFA has once again been established.
