In partnership with India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Zynga Inc. announced the release of two mobile games namely Azadi Quest: Match 3 and Azadi Quest: Heroes of Bharat. This collaboration is a part of a programme to promote educational games in recognition of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the Indian government to mark the country's 75th anniversary of independence.

The two games which have been released aim to provide educational information to gamers of all ages through engaging and entertaining gameplay. The Azadi Quest: Match 3 game is straightforward and simple to play, depicting the history of Indian independence from 1857 to 1947. The game highlights major liberation warriors, historical turning points, and iconic movements as players go through the game. Players can gather trivia cards that educate about significant historical events.

“What better medium than gaming could be there to engage the youth to ensure they know the history of our country? These mobile games use the interactive medium to engage, entertain, and educate the people of India and abroad about the efforts of numerous unsung heroes of the Indian freedom movement,” said Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

The second game that is released is Azadi Quest: Heroes of Bharat. The game is basically designed in a quiz format, containing a total of 750 questions about India’s struggle for independence. This tests the knowledge of the youth of this generation (primarily anyone who plays the game) about India’s Independence movement and educates about the same. Both the free-to-play games are available in English as well as the Hindi language.

“The path to independence commemorates a transformative milestone in India’s history and we are proud to be a part of this important national effort to honor India’s past,” said Kishore Kichili, Senior Vice President Games and Country Head of Zynga India. Speaking about this initiative he pointed out that Zynga’s goal is to bring people together through gaming. Also, this programme aims to keep players of all ages interested while utilizing interactive entertainment to provide educational opportunities about this important era.
