World celebrates the commencement of ESL One DOTA 2 Malaysia 2022 – check tournament format and other details

Having organized two events back in 2017 and 2018, this International (TI11) is supposed to be the last-ever international Dota 2 event by ESL. The event features a massive prize pool of $400,000. The ongoing event is featuring 12 best professional teams around the world battling in the Arena of Stars at Resorts World Genting.

The event is divided into 2 different group stages and 1 playoff. The Group Stage consist of two groups named Group A and Group B incorporating six teams in each. The teams of Alliance, Entity, Talon Esports, Team Aster, Team Secret, Thunder Awaken have been placed under Group A, while the rest of the teams such as BOOM Esports, Fnatic, Nigma Galaxy, OG, Team Liquid & TSM are categorized under Group B. 

ESL One Malaysia 2022 is a premier LAN event that has started from August 23rd and shall continue till August 28th. The 12 teams presented, out of which six (OG, Fnatic, Alliance, Team Liquid, Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy) are invited and six other (Entity - Europe, Team Aster - China,   BOOM Esports - Southeast Asia, Talon Esports - Southeast Asia, TSM - North America, Thunder Awaken - South America) made their way through their respective regional qualifiers.

Group stage (23rd-25th August) - The 12 teams divided into two groups of six will have a single round robin with all the matches being played in a BO2 format. The top two teams will move to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The third and fourth place teams move to the lower bracket of the playoffs. The fifth and sixth place teams shall get eliminated.

Playoffs (26th-28th August) - The playoffs will have a double elimination bracket.  All the matches shall be played in a BO3 format.
