Destiny 2 theories have been running wild. Bungie has not revealed anything about the upcoming season. Though data miners have leaked the name of the upcoming season, the story is not yet known.

It says there is an exciting theory that is trending these days over the internet. It consists of a prediction of Eramis being unfrozen this time. The theory has been derived from a few hints observed in the game and from the approach of it.

Destiny 2 Season 18 will be called Season of Plunder. Plunder refers to the pirates who loot and steal ships. Eramis is related to pirates in the game and is the Shipstealer. Eramis was the main villain in the Beyond Light campaign.

She hated Traveler for abandoning Eliksni and then established House Salvation after turning to the Darkness. While fighting with the members of the House, Guardians acquired stasis; they master it at the end of the campaign and freeze Eramis. She's been frozen in ice all this time.

After a few days, Bungie says in a tweet, "Who's going to break the ice?" In fact, at the end of Vox Obscura quest, Empress Caitl spoke about a vision from one of her Psions.

Few parts of this vision can be seen now and are proved to be true. At first, Leviathan returned after being infested with Egregore. This vision also talks about The Shipstealer being revived with Eramis being the only "Shipstealer" in the game presently.
On top of that, Eramis thawing out of the ice makes much sense at this time. With Calus out of the way, the Witness is looking for a new disciple and the suitable one seems to be Eramis. This is because they have already pledged their allegiance to the Darkness.

Apart from that, Europa has been an unexplored place for the most part as the last time Guardians actively ran missions there was in Destiny 2 Beyond Light. If Eramis comes back then they will have enough reason to get back to Europa again.
The big reveal for Destiny 2 Season of Plunder will be held on August 23 at Bungie Showcase. With the Arc 3.0 rework, the whole community will eagerly wait to see the execution of everything. They will be more excited to catch a glimpse of the first look at Lightfall.
