According to a recent announcement, Moonton Games and Hatten Edge, a subsidiary of the
property developer Hatten Land, have joined hands to create an Esports hub with a theme
exclusive to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). This collaboration is aimed at establishing an
Esports hub in Malacca, Malaysia to explore new opportunities related to this gaming title.
The free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, Mobile Legends by Moonton has
risen to immense popularity primarily in Southeast Asia. There are more than one billion people
who have downloaded the game worldwide, and the title enjoys a monthly peak of 100 million
players. At a time of its ever-increasing popularity, Moonton appears to expand its reach
through marketing campaigns, Esports tournaments, and branding events. This Esports hub will
cater to the needs of gamers-cum-shoppers alike, proving to be an “innovative, immersive and
interactive experience for all gamers, fans, and shoppers”.

Commenting about the collaboration Dato’ Colin Tan, Hatten Land’s executive chairman and
managing director said, “Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has experienced explosive
growth globally with Southeast Asia being its key revenue market since its launch in 2016.
Catering to the growing popularity of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the world’s first-of-its-kind
MLBB-themed integrated Esports Hub at Element X is conceptualized with an array of
experiential interactions and immersive environments as well as multi-dimensional offerings that
redefine gaming experiences.”

The Mobile Legends Esports hub will be located in Hatten Land's Element X mall, with the
interior and exterior decor centered around attractive Mobile Legends and Esports themes.
According to a publicly available document, the partnership focuses to upgrade the Hatten
Place hotel to a five-star Esports hotel, providing accommodation to professional players during
a major Mobile Legends Esports event. Additionally, Arena X, a 1,200-seat esports arena within
the Element X mall, will showcase and promote the game.
