Overall Standings, Match-Wise Summary & Top Fraggers – Day 1 of PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022

The much-awaited PMWI (PUBG Mobile World Invitational) 2022 is here and has already kicked off yesterday August 11th. The main event has commenced with the world’s top 18 professional teams having qualified for the league championships and battling against each other for a massive prize pool worth USD $2M. The main tournament is ongoing till 13th August 2022.

The end of Day 1 of the tournament brought Vampire Esports to the top of the leader boards with 86 points, closely followed by Stalwart Esports who garnered 83 points. Falcon Esports clocked in at 3rd place with 74 points, while Donuts USG secured 4th place for themselves with 55 points. Team SouL, the representatives from India couldn’t showcase much mettle and managed to secure 13th place with a meagre 28 points.

Overall standings & match-wise summary of PMWI Day 1 –

•    Match 1 (Erangel) - The Thailand-based team, Vampire Esports started dominating the competition right from the very beginning as they grabbed the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner with a massive 24 kills. Box Gaming from Vietnam acquired 2nd place with passive gameplay where they acquired only 2 kills. Stalwart Esports grabbed the 3rd position with five frags to their names. Omega of Team SouL helped the squad acquire the 5th position in this match, but got eliminated by Stalwart Esports.

•    Match 2 (Miramar) - In the final clash between squads, TJB EU emerged victorious by defeating Team Falcons. TJB EU acquired 12 kills in the match. Stalwart Esports managed to pull off decent gameplay, and grabbed the 3rd spot by acquiring six eliminations. Unfortunately, Team SouL could not make a mark during this round, as 3 players from the squad were eliminated by Box Gaming, with whom they had a drop clash.

•    Match 3 (Sanhok) - Team Morph from Indonesia emerged victorious in the 3rd match with 7 kills. Vivo Keyd put up an explosive performance by collecting 20 points, which included 8 eliminations to their name. Stalwart Esports did not disappoint its fans as they occupied 3rd place at the end of the match. Box Gaming, during one of their rotations, got caught and eliminated by Morph, resulting in an early exit for the team with only five eliminations to their name. Team SouL could manage to acquire 2 kills in this match.

•    Match 4 (Erangel) - The end circle for this match on Erangel decided to shrink itself near Pochinki, and had viewers witnessing an intense battle among multiple teams. Donuts USG became the winners of the match with six kills, but Vampire Esports again came out on top of the match leaderboard by acquiring 2nd place with a total of 13 eliminations. Team Falcons had 16 points, including 10 kills. Team SouL could manage to grab 4 points which included 2 eliminations.

•    Match 5 (Miramar) - Falcons Esports, from Saudi Arabia, provided its fans a fantastic gameplay in this match, bringing a much-deserved Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, accompanied by 15 kills. This match on Miramar was also a comeback match for the Pakistani team 52 Esports, who clocked in at 2nd place with 9 eliminations to their names. 

•    Match 6 (Erangel) – The final match was won by Stalwart Esports, who clinched their first victory of PMWI 2022. Team Nigma Galaxy emerged 2nd by putting on a spectacular performance, acquiring eight frags in the process. 4Rivals clocked in at 4th place with 11 kills. Unfortunately for Indian fans, Team SouL got eliminated early in the game to make any significant mark.

Top 5 fraggers from PMWI 2022 Day 1 –

Stalwart Esports witnessed another moment of limelight when Action secured the coveted position of #1 on the top fraggers’ list for Day 1 with 17 kills to his name. Mike and Wave acquired the 2nd and 3rd positions by picking up 15 and 13 kills respectively. The 4th position went to Fluke with 12 kills, while the 5th position went to Q-Ravenclaw with 11 kills.
