Spy X Family is derived from the Japanese Manga series of the same name that is now streaming as an anime series on Crunchyroll, which has become a hit from the first episode itself. Episode 1 introduced a fresh, heartwarming plot about a spy adopting a girl. The story has a unique blend of action, mystery, comedy, and psychological twists.

About Episode 1

Spy X Family Episode 1 begins with the spy named Twilight, who is set up on the task of closely following a political leader to get some crucial intel. Twilight, who uses the name Loid Forger for the secret mission, needs a child to run the mission successfully. As he sets out looking for a child, he finds one in an orphanage; a young girl called Anya who has the special gifted skill of telepathy. But, the twist is that Twilight is unaware of Anya’s special skills as she keeps her skill to herself. The plot further follows, Twilight struggling to keep up with the mission and fighting enemies, and correctly raising an orphan child with hidden telepathic skills. This first episode throws Twilight into the hardships of fatherhood as he tackles the secret mission and the challenges that come along with being a superspy.

Spy X Family brings a subtle comedy to the heavy spy drama. The plot needed comic relief as it would help the audiences relax amid enjoying the action-packed mystery of the show. The character, Anya, the orphan child, brings fresh energy to the otherwise known plot with her messy and emotional, typical anime child-like personality. The show also realistically sheds light on her character’s abandonment issues.

The show also beautifully portrays the Manga series illustrated by the famed Tatsuya Endo. This adaptation did not leave a dull moment in the first episode, webbing an engaging and tactical tale of a spy also a father to a telepathic child who strives to unveil the truth and the mysteries of the corrupted world as he searches for some serious intel.

Thus, the first episode being a hit, it is expected that the upcoming episodes will live upto it.
