Almost a month ago, on May 19, 2020, the official twitter handle of Mafia: Trilogy(@mafiagame) announced Mafia: Trilogy. Just as the name suggests it is the trilogy of 2K Czech’s and Hangar 13’s Mafia series. However, there is something more, this is not just a standard trilogy, but a ‘Definitive Trilogy’. The Mafia Definitive Edition Trilogy will have the Remastered/Definitive editions of the three Mafia games, Mafia 1, Mafia 2, and Mafia 3.

The definitive editions of Mafia 3 and Mafia 2 are already available on Steam and the ones who owned them already got a free upgrade to the definitive edition which was a very generous move from 2K and Hangar 13. The only Mafia game that does not have a definitive edition released yet, is the original Mafia game which came out in August 2002.
Now, we finally got the first narrative trailer for the upcoming Mafia: Definitive Edition. This narrative trailer shows us some amount of Mafia Definitive Edition gameplay as well.

Mafia 3 Definitive Edition is just the original Mafia 3 but with all DLC and bonus packs. Whereas, Mafia 2 Definitive Edition is the remastered edition of the original Mafia 2 which was released in 2010. This remaster has new and upgraded textures, lighting effects, etc. Furthermore, it also contains all the DLCs of Mafia 2. The definitive edition of the original Mafia will be having the most changes when compared to the other Mafia games.

According to the official tweet Mafia Trilogy has been, “Re-made from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a faithful remake of the original's acclaimed story with dramatically improved and expanded visuals and gameplay.”

We've kept all the same big beats from the original game, the story is the same for the most part, all the big plot points are there, all the missions are represented, but everything was completely rebuilt from the ground up."
The  Mafia Definitive Edition release date has also been revealed for Mafia: Definitive Edition. It releases on 28 August 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
