After Star Wars: Squadrons received a massive leak and found itself on the front page of Microsoft’s Xbox page, Electronic Arts officially confirmed today that it will be showcased on 15 June.
Taking to Twitter, the published revealed some artwork for the title and also announced that its debut trailer will be arriving on June 15th at 8:30 pm IST (so set your alarms accordingly). Following that, it’s likely that EA Play will bring us even more about the game when it kicks off that same week, on June 18th.
Here are some details about Star Wars: Squadrons, which was previously known as Project Maverick. It has a single-player campaign that is a few hours long. But the focus is on multiplayer space combat. https://t.co/qyJhQJCKwv— NOT Jeffy Grubb-Grubb (@JeffGrubb) June 12, 2020
According to Jeff Grubb, the game has a single-player campaign, but it will be relatively short ("a few hours long"), and the big focus of the game is on multiplayer space combat. Without any gameplay or footage to dig into, it’s hard to say exactly what Squadrons is all about, but it appears to be heavily focused on air and space combat. After all, the tweet from EA which shared the above artwork came accompanied with the caption: Pilots wanted. Players can expect to see it hitting the next generation of consoles to some capacity.
"Star Wars: Squadrons is an aerial/space combat game about piloting ships in head-to-head battles," Jeff Grubb says about Star Wars: Squadrons. "The idea is to get players fighting against each other in team battles featuring iconic Star Wars vessels."
We will likely learn more during EA’s Play event, taking place on June 18, and a reveal trailer has been announced for Monday, June 15.
