We knew that the upcoming Overwatch 2 Beta is happening in April 2022. However, a specific release date was something that we did not have, well till now that is. Now, we have the specific release date for the Overwatch 2 beta, and it is April 26, 2022.

Overwatch 2 was announced all the way back in 2020, and since then the fans of the hero-shooter have been patiently waiting for the game. Just a week back, we talked about how Blizzard has decided to decouple PvP, and PvE components of the game, to ensure that they can bring the game to the fans earlier. As a result, the beta will only have the PvP component. However, there is nothing to worry about, as there will be future betas as well, and these will have the PvE components as well.

However, when it comes to the first beta launch, all we knew is that it is happening in April, but we did not know the date. But, we do now, and it is April 26, 2022. For those of you who are unaware, to have a chance at playing this closed beta, you would have to sign up for it at Overwatch’s official site.

Anyway, in a recent developer livestream, Blizzard revealed more about the new additions in the upcoming April. Well, it is a bit of an overview, and not much in-depth. But, here it is.

New Hero - Sojourn: We knew of Sojourn before, but we did not know anything else apart from the name. Now, we know that Sojourn is a Canadian who used to be a former Overwatch captain. And, she uses a railgun.

New Mode - Push: Just like Sojourn, all we knew about the upcoming game mode, is its name, Push. But, now we also know what this mode is all about. The way Push works is that either of the teams needs to take control of a robot that is at the center of the map. And, once control is taken, they need to push it towards the enemy base. Furthermore, the enemies can also take control of the robot. The team that manages to get it closer to the enemy team’s base, wins the match.

New Maps: There are a total of four new maps coming with Overwatch 2 April Beta. Circuit Royal for the Escort game mode, Midtown which is Hybrid, then we also have two maps for the new game mode, Push. These two maps are New Queen Street, and Colosseo.

Hero Reworks: A number of heroes would be reworked, this includes Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra. Furthermore, Doomfist is now a tank instead of a damage-type hero.

And, lastly, there will also be a new ping system added to the game
