Core Keeper sells a quarter-million copies in just one week

Core Keeper appears to have become an instant smash on Steam, with gameplay that is a delightful blend of Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and survival games. Core Keeper sales for the first week are in, and they're looking very well. The indie game's mix of Terraria and Diablo helped it sell 250,000 copies in its first week, according to reports.

It's been a smash since it initially debuted on Steam Early Access last week, where it was an instant hit, with a top concurrent player count of 7,555 on its first day, which is incredible for a still-in-development independent game.

To summarize, Core Keeper is a co-op survival crafting sandbox set deep down, complete with sentient slimes, huge maggots, red-eyed goblins, and aeroplane-sized monster insects. However, it has a Stardew Valley vibe to it. It's nice, comfortable, warm, and pleasant.

 

Core Keeper is also a success with the Steam population, as seen by the sales. On March 10, two days following the game's release, developer Pugstorm revealed that it had sold over 100,000 downloads on Valve's shop, becoming Core Keeper publisher Fireshine Games' "fastest-selling digital product of all time." Core Keeper has now sold over 250,000 copies on PC, less than a week after its debut, and with the launch day discount still in force, according to Pugstorm.
