At the 2021 Tokyo Game Show in September 2021, Capcom unveiled additional details about the Monster Hunter franchise's future plans. Monster Hunter Rise for PC and its planned paid DLC addition, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, were among the event's highlights.

Elgado, a research station, and the bustling port town is the setting for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Hunters can take sail towards the new outpost after a dangerous confrontation with a Lunagaron and the Dame Fiorayne, a knight from some other realm studying monster oddities. Of sure, there will be more creatures. The trailer revealed three Lord creatures as well as a slew of new beasts to fight, like the electric wyvern Astalos and the Blood Orange Bishaten. New Master Rank tasks will be available, as well as a new town with new faces and a tea shop. Before taking on enormous beasts, don't forget to obtain some refreshments. There will be a slew of new monsters to slay, including Astalos' return and Blood Orange Bishaten, a new alteration of the terrifying flying monkey Bishaten. The Three Lords, an all-powerful trio of legendary monsters, are also present. There's the werewolf-like Lunagaron, the Dracula-inspired Mlzeno, and the golem-inspired Garangolm. They appear to be equally intimidating and a lot of fun to take down.

Although Capcom has announced "an all-new storyline with more new monsters, new locales, gameplay mechanics, a new quest scale, and more," there are few details on what the new material for Sunbreak will entail. More details will be revealed during a Monster Hunter Limelight at Tokyo Game Show 2021 on September 30 at 2 pm. While Monster Hunter Rise has been out for a year on the Nintendo Switch, PC players have only had a few months to explore Kamura Village and its environs.
