This is undoubtedly a result of the lack of players playing in the game’s Arena mode, however, the official blog article outlines the complete reasoning behind the decision. In January, Sea Of Thieves Executive Producer Joe Neate discussed the Arena mode's shutdown, noting that the team's priorities were to focus on the core gameplay of Adventure mode. He did, however, admit the lackluster response of gamers to Arena mode, which was most likely a major factor in the decision to scrap it entirely.
