It seems that something big is coming soon from AMD. According to recent news that has surfaced, it seems that AMD is going to talk about its “next generation image upscaling tech” in the upcoming GDC 2022 which is supposed to be held on March 23. GDC is a major event in this field, and needless to say, there will be a lot of new information that will come from there. But, we would go over all of that once the event takes place. For, now let us talk about the next generation image upscaling tech from AMD, and what it will possibly be.

So, needless, this is going to be speculation from our side, as we do not know what AMD will reveal at GDC 2022. All we do know is that it will be about the new generation of image upscaling techniques from them. And, how it can be implemented in gaming.

AMD Fidelity Super Resolution, also known as FSR has been around for a while now. It is an image upscaling technique, in case you are not aware, and competes with NVIDIA RTX DLSS. Anyway, DLSS is exclusive to RTX cards, whereas AMD FSR is compatible across a large range of cards, as it is based around traditional upscale techniques, rather than AI which is used in RTX cards.

These upscaling techniques are no gimmicks and indeed have a real effect. If you have seen the benchmarks and how these techniques affect the game’s performance, you would know that. Currently, NVIDIA RTX DLSS is better than AMD FSR if you ask me. So, I am quite excited about what this new generation of image upscaling techniques from AMD will be like. And, most importantly, how will it compare with DLSS? Well, to know about all of this we would have to wait till GDC 2022 actually takes place. Fortunately, it is just like a week away from now. So, there is not too long of a wait.
