The payments of Russian Twitch streamers are at a halt due to the current changes in economic sanctions made by the US government and Twitch’s decision to abide by the rules. The information was passed down to the streamers via email which cited “we appreciate how frustrating and difficult this is and would like to reassure you that if you can’t provide an alternative financial institution, we will do our best to pay you revenue you have earned as soon as we are permitted to do so”.

The mail further said, “Payouts to the financial institution associated with your Twitch account have been blocked as a result of sanctions. Twitch complies with economic sanctions imposed by the United States and other governments and is complying with those imposed in response to the situation in Ukraine.”
 
Shortly, after the President of Russia Vladimir Putin wedged a war against Ukraine which seems impossible to put an end to it, the United States and the European Union came up with economic sanctions against Russia, due to which the payments of the Russian streamers are currently blocked. Slowly, the people of the country seem to feel the effect of the growing hostility between the two nations affecting the lives of the common men resulting in hardships.
 
Across the gaming industry, the big companies including Activision Blizzard, Microsoft, Take-Two, Epic games have held back sales in Russia. Simultaneously, there is an echo swirling around on the Internet of Ukraine being offered a charity fund by Bundle, which has launched nearly 1000 games catering to a profit of nearly  £7.63 ($10).

Some Russian streamers opened up about the hardships that they are currently dealing with. Twitch streamers like Lina said that she saw it coming but what shocked her is the fact that it was an overnight decision. Other twitch streamers named Mira said earlier that her nationality seems to be a threat to her as it is becoming a targeted reason for the platform to ban her.
 
“I have been blocked from payments from Twitch, many advertisers have left the Russian market and my Visa and Mastercard cards will soon be blocked abroad,” said Alexey ‘Jesus AVGN’ Gubanov of Russia who moved to the US.
