After Sony has delayed its original plan to reveal details on their new console on June 4, the PlayStation 5 will finally be fully revealed on June 11. The event, like so many others, was rescheduled to show solidarity with those protesting against police brutality and systemic racism in the United States and elsewhere. The event is now scheduled to start at 1:30 AM IST on June 11. Sony had earlier revealed that the event will give us a look at “the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday”. Thus, the company may actually just unveil the console and showcase some of the games coming to the PS5. However, it may still be a while before the Playstation 5 will be available on store shelves. However, an earlier report says Sony is not expected to reveal details about the next-generation gaming console. The company is expected to hold a few more such events in the coming weeks and months, leading up to the official launch of the PlayStation 5. Unlike events like this in the past, the showcase will be entirely online, with Sony explaining that it has given them "an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us"
Due to the tragic incident regarding the death of George Floyd, several gaming events had been delayed or postponed. One such event was the PlayStation 5 event that was originally supposed to be on June 4, 2020. However, on June 2, 2020, the official Twitter page of PlayStation (@PlayStation) tweeted about the event being postponed and nothing about the new date was stated.
However, on June 8, 2020, the official Twitter of PlayStation tweeted about the details of the event. The event is called ‘PS5 Future of Gaming’ and it will be on June 11, 2020, at 1:00 PM PT. The tweet also contains the link to the original blog by PlayStation themselves

From the blog, we come to know that it will be a pre-taped program and will be broadcast at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second. Apparently, this was done to ease out the production process as most of their staff are working from home. They also suggest the viewers to use headphones during the event. They said, “there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”
The digital showcase, which will run for a "bit more than an hour" according to Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, will largely focus on the games set to be released on the new console with a number of titles from "studio, both large and smaller" getting shown for the first time. Those interested will be able to watch the event on Twitch or YouTube, expected to last just over an hour, it will feature a number of games that are set to release on PlayStation 5 on or near the release date.
Needless to say, being a PS5 event, this event will mostly announce new information regarding it. Like price, availability, PS5 compatible games, etc. There is also a high probability of finally hearing something official about the Bloodborne Remastered edition that is supposed to come soon for PS5 and PC.
