Riot Games, an American video game developer, publisher and esports tournament organizer, has announced the expansion of its business in the Asia Pacific region. This includes establishing new offices in the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

The producer of famous video games like League of Legends and Valorant has big plans ahead following the branching out of its publishing reach to Japan and India. Alex Kraynov, the former Managing Director of emerging markets, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of APAC. In the recent press release, Riot revealed that this reorganization will help in broadening its operating model with publishing being at the forefront, along with its other business ventures which include games, entertainment, esports and enterprise.

Apart from Riot's popular gaming title- League of Legends, it has also launched many new games like League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, as well as Riot Forge titles, Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem. The company has also garnered attention for its various esports leagues and tournaments. The primary departments within APAC Publishing include Country Operations, Publishing Partnerships, Brand Marketing, Growth Marketing and Services, Business Development, and Regional Tech.

Alex Kraynov, Managing Director of APAC said, "This is a natural step in progression for our publishing business in Southeast Asia, and Riot recognizes that APAC has the potential to become the biggest region in the world for Riot." “This region is intricately diverse, with massive gaming communities that have diverse needs and a strong appetite for mobile gaming. Working towards more physical presence in our key APAC markets, we’re extremely excited to double down on these efforts to continue striving towards being the most player-focused gaming company in the world," he added.

With the growth in popularity of mobile gaming in the APAC region and emerging as the biggest market in the world for the same, Riot appears to be investing more here. This will help in strengthening the player base in this region.
