As the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto advances, the dev team has released an event that will remind the trainers of one of the past Pokemon gaming titles. Fans of the franchise will be able to experience Pokemon Gold and Silver again as the new event will make them chase down the Legendary Dog Pokemons found here which are Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.

This event will be called Pokemon GO Photo Safari Timed Research. During this time, trainers will find all of these three Legendary 5-Star raid Pokemons spawning in the wild. They have to find each of the three Pokemons to complete the research. This will be a global event, hence Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be appearing in the wild throughout the world. Pokemon GO Trainers can find them spawning randomly near them. These three Legendary Dog Pokemons are also specifically programmed to be more likely to flee from battles. They are more similar to their counterparts from the Johto region who would flee after one turn or use Roar to end an encounter.

Pokemon GO trainers can complete the Photo Safari Timed Research event when they take a snapshot picture of each Legendary Dog Pokemon in the wild. It can be done by simply starting an encounter when they see one of them appear. After encountering Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, rather than looking to capture them using Pokeballs, trainers need to instead use the camera icon located on the top of their screen and click a snapshot. It will allow them to get a snapshot of Legendary Pokemons in the wild. During this activity, the Pokemon will most likely run away, but the trainers will have completed a part of the Photo Safari Timed Research.

After completing the event, Pokemon GO trainers can then try to capture these Legendary Pokemons when they meet these 3 again in the wild or through Research encounter rewards.
