Pokemon GO trainers should be excited for 2022 as there are many exciting events lined up in the coming months. The Niantic dev team is working on the following events that will be released within the game soon. Let us have a look at the information that we have on them in detail.

Pokemon GO Tour: Johto

Trainers will be able to take part in the Pokemon GO Tour: Johto experience that will be held on 26th and 27th February. This will be a global event and trainers need to complete the ticket-exclusive Masterwork Research Encounter tasks to obtain the Apex Shadow Lugia and Apex Shadow Ho-Oh. The Pokemon GO Tour: Johto will feature two different versions of the ticketed experience, the Gold Version and Silver Version. Each version will have its own version-exclusive Pokemons, an increased chance of certain Pokemon encounters, and a chance to encounter a certain Shiny Pokemon for the first time in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Battle League Improvements

The Batte League system in Pokemon GO will witness a lot of changes and improvements in the upcoming seasons. GO Battle League Season 10 will be extended until 1st March 1 at 1:00 PM PST (GMT –8) rather than 28th February. The next season will begin immediately from 1st March at 1:00 PM. PST (GMT –8) and will run concurrently with the next in-game Season until 1st June at 1:00 PM PDT (GMT –8).

For the next GO Battle League Season, the rankings will cap at Rank 20, and there will be no visible ratings. The Cups will rotate weekly and will also feature re-runs of former special cups. The upcoming season will be used as an opportunity to test some possible new formats for GO Battle Days and their reward structures. Rankings for Season 10 will also be used to determine early registration eligibility for the Pokemon GO World Championship Series.

Pokemon GO: Postcard Update

The dev team at Niantic is looking to add additional functionality to the Postcard book feature present in the game. They are planning to include notifications, sticker saving, sorting methods, and new postcard notes.

Pokemon GO: Community Day Updates

The developers of Pokemon GO have revealed that they are testing community-hosted events on a smaller scale. They also plan to continue to explore their options for different variations of the monthly event like they did for January’s Community Day Classic.

Pokemon GO: Seasonal Updates

With the Season of Heritage coming to an end with the Pokemon GO Tour: Johto, Niantic has already confirmed that the next season will also consist of four Special Research Stories. Trainers will have to focus on completing various small-scale tasks to complete them and progress.
