Risk of Rain 2 has been around for more than a year now, the game has received numerous updates to date. But, it is on its way to getting another major update in the form of a new expansion, Survivors of the Void. With this new upcoming expansion, a new endless mode would be added to the game. This endless mode is called Simulacrum. We also get to see a long, and detailed gameplay of this new game mode in a new video that has been published by the developer, Hopoo Games. Just as you would expect from an endless game mode in an action game, this new Simulacrum mode would be a wave-based mode that would spawn various types of enemies in every wave, and these waves would be continuing as long as you do not succumb to it. Not to mention, with each passing wave, the difficulty would also increase, as the enemies you face would be more challenging. To make it even more difficult, some waves would have certain mutators A boss would spawn at every five waves. When you successfully survive a wave, you would get the option to pick from three unique items in a Void Potential. Each of these would have different traits, and you can pick one that would suit your build the best, and make it more manageable for you.

There is also a zone in this new game mode, Simulacrum, inside which you have to stay. If you get outside this zone, then you will start taking damage. All the power-ups and other items will spawn on the level as usual.

So, if you were running out of things to do in Risk of Rain 2, it seems that now there is finally something for you to sink several more hours in. I mean, it is an endless mode, so you are definitely going to be playing it for quite a while if you can survive that is.
