League of Legends’ popularity along with the new gaming title Valorant, has made Riot Games one of the leading firms of the global gaming business space. Recently, in a press release, the gaming giant has revealed a new logo alongside the launch of a media website.
This isn’t the first time Riot has redesigned its logo, in 2019 it went with separating the fist from the title, indicative of the changing times. This time they followed a more minimalist update with a major change in the font of the logo. “As Riot enters its second decade, we felt the timing was right to update and expand the Riot Games visual system to set us up for success long-term”, they promised.
“The change to the logo was an output of building a more cohesive visual system including the creation of additional unique assets (like typography) that will help players recognise us more easily where we show up”, Riot said. “While we made the wordmark a bit more modern, we wanted to retain the original spirit of the fist and make it clear that Riot GAMES remain at our core,” the game developer company added.
With the latest success of “Arcane”, an animated League of Legends Netflix series that made its name to the top of the entertainment industry, it’s evident that Riot won’t limit itself to just the gaming sector and branch into other forms of media. Thus, as part of its ambitious plans ahead, Riot came up with a new media website that will operate as a main source for the press. It will function to provide all media related as well as corporate news including information related to assets, executive bios and also updates on any new range of titles. They are also coming up with a new mockumentary series “Players”. Moreover, Riot Games revealed updates to both its Wild Rift and VALORANT competitive ecosystems.
Though changes in its new logo weren’t huge, as Riot claimed it was time for an update with the main purpose and goal of the company staying intact.
