DOTA 2’s much-anticipated 7.31 patch is finally here. Well, this patch has changed the game significantly, with new items, rework of older items, changes to Jungle neutral creeps, Techies rework, and also the addition of a new hero called Primal Beast. There are several other changes, but, here we are going to talk about Primal Beast specifically, and what this new hero is all about. Talking about the role, Primal Beast is introduced as a Strength hero whose roles are Initiator, Disable, and Durable. And, the difficulty rating is set at 1 out of 3, so this will be a pretty straightforward hero, and not much complex to play with. Now, moving on to the abilities of Primal Beast.

The first ability (Q) is called Onslaught. Onslaught is an active ability that will allow the Primal Beast to charge in a direction, and knock back both enemies, and allies that fall in its path. Depending on how long you charge, you can move further. You can also slightly control the path of the charge. But, just a mild curve.

The second ability (W) is called Trample. This too is an active ability. Once activated, Primal Beast will create an AoE damage around him. The tick of AoE damage will trigger for every 140 units traveled by Primal Beast. It is a lot like Sand King’s Agjanim’s Shard upgrade which triggers a pulse when enemies are around. But, with Primal Beast, that would only trigger once every 140 units traveled.

The next ability (E) is called Uproar. And, this is a passive ability. But, it has an active part as well. The passive will provide additional bonus damage, and Primal Beast will also gain additional stacks of Uproar for bonus damage. Depending on the number of stacks of Uproar, you can activate it and Primal Beast will roar that will slow the enemies, and grant bonus damage, and armor.

The ultimate ability (R) for Primal Beast is called Pulverize. It is a unit target active spell. You can use it on your enemies and slam them repeatedly to the ground. There will also be an AoE around it which will stun all the nearby enemies.

If you get the Aghanim’s Shard, you will get another ability called Rock Throw. Just as the name suggests, Primal Beast will throw a rock at the targetted spot, and it would damage, and stun enemies in that area.
