As Pokemon Day 2022 comes near, there have been some wild speculations, leaks, and predictions, especially regarding the announcement of Pokemon Generation 9. There are also rumors regarding the release of other Pokemon gaming titles like Detective Pikachu 2 and an expansion DLC of Pokemon Legends Arceus. Will we receive a Pokemon generation 9 announcement in 2022?

It has been three years since the introduction of the latest Pokemon Generation with Pokemon Sword and Shield. If we follow the latest tradition, a new Pokemon Generation has been announced every 3 years. Many fans of the Pokemon series are expecting the announcement of Generation 9 on this year’s Pokemon Day. But as The Pokemon Company is focused on publishing other new Pokemon titles, many people have been speculating that we might not get a new Pokemon Generation announcement in 2022.

Yet the expectations and hype for Gen 9 have not yet died as there have been many leaks that suggest that something big might be announced in Pokemon Day 2022. 

One of the latest leak sources, known as Eclipse, has revealed some of the upcoming Pokemon-related news that fans can expect. The first one is the introduction of an expansion DLC for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which everyone expected due to the successful launch of the game worldwide. The next game that players can look forward to is the release of Detective Pikachu 2 on Switch. This game might be released in late April. And finally, he also tells that a brand new Pokemon game will also be announced, along with the return of the Pokemon Video Game Championships.

Still, many other accounts that are known for providing Pokemon leaks do not conform to Eclipse’s tweet wholeheartedly. Centro Leaks, another well-known source for Pokemon leaks, has also tweeted that fans should keep their expectations in check regarding the announcements for Pokemon Day 2022. He tells that there have been many “wild and unrealistic predictions” been thrown out just to create hype.
 

Many others see Eclipse’s last tweet about the new Pokemon video game championships as a brand new stadium game, not related to Pokemon Generation 9. As both the latest released Pokemon gaming titles like Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl along Arceus do not have a competitive mode, fans may get a new Pokemon game that has ranked championships in it.

Fans should take all these leaked Pokemon news with a grain of salt because none of these have been confirmed by the original developers at Game Freak. Still, these leaks have created a sort of hype for fans and now everyone will be looking forward to Pokemon Day 2022 which is just around the corner.
