Apex Legends now shows Black Lives Matter message on loading up

Ever since the tragic incident regarding the death of Georg Floyd a lot of things have changed in the gaming industry. For those who don’t know about the incident, on May 25, 2020, he died during an arrest by Derek Chauvin, a white police officer. The police officer pressed his knee against the neck of George Floyd for 9 minutes and he died of suffocation. After that, several anti-racism protests have been performed both in the USA and internationally.

In light of this event, many game companies have cancelled and postponed their events. Events such as the PlayStation 5's 'The Future of Gaming’, Steam Summer Games 2020, EA Play Live, Cyberpunk 2077 NightCity Wire, etc all got postponed. They also made posts on social media pledging their support for the anti-racism movement. Other than these, many games have also started displaying messages regarding this matter. A few days ago we came to know that Call of Duty : Modern Warfare (2019) has started showing a anti-racism splash screen.

 It read:

“Black Lives Matter.

Our community is hurting. The systemic inequalities our community experiences are once again center stage. Call of Duty and Infinity Ward stand for equality and inclusion. We stand against the racism and injustice our Black community endures. Until change happens and Black Lives Matter, we will never truly be the community we strive to be.”
