Skate 4 was announced back in 2020. Well, it was not announced as Skate 4, but that is a name we are using for our own convenience. Anyway, now it seems that the release for the new Skate game is not as far as we all expected it to be. And, rather it is quite close. The last we heard about the upcoming Skate game is that it will be available on PC as well. But, there was no information about the release date of this game. And, it was also discovered that the game is still in the early stages of development. So, it was assumed that the game is not really going to release any time soon. 

But, that was till now. Now, with a recent EA earning’s call, it is made pretty clear that the new Skate game might just be releasing in this year itself. The publisher claims that user-made content for Skate will be available at the very center of it, and also that it will be launching soon. By soon, we presume this year itself considering how this year has just begun.

Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA describes that the user-generated content will be a really valuable part of what this industry offers to its players, and fans, that traditional media normally does not. He also goes on to acknowledge that this has been at the very center of Sims for a long time now. Furthermore, other EA games such as Madden, and FIFA also have it. And, with the new Skate game, it seems that will be the same here as well.

But, when it comes to the release date, all we know is that it is releasing soon. Now, if you ask me, soon definitely means this year. Else, there is no reason to call it soon. Well, it is not official, but that is just an assumption from my side at this point. But, if it is actually releasing this year itself, then we should soon be learning more about this game. Probably in the next EA Play event? After all, that is the best time for EA to talk about its offerings. Well, we will just have to wait and see.
