It is said that nearly 75,000 people are playing God of War on their PC after launch at the same time.
As God of War had a strong start, it passed Horizon Zero Dawn and became Sony’s biggest launch on this platform with this high-level peak.
A site that tracks Steam’s data, the game has reached that number on January 15th and one day after the PlayStation exclusive arrived on PC told as per Steam DB.
Before God of War’s arrival, Horizon Zero Dawn had the highest all-time peak for Sony- first party at 56,557 players but as soon as the game God of War arrived it broke their records with 75,000 players on PC and became Sony- second party release on PC.
Seeing their efforts Sony is putting the focus on some of its biggest exclusive on PC which seems to be working in its favour and the director of God of War Cory Barlog states that PlayStation’s own studios were key in convincing Sony that it was a “really good idea” to make this happen.
Barlog and their team shared their statements that the launch of God of War to PC brought an advantage and experiment with the increased power of PC but also gave them a chance to make it an even more accessible experience for all types of players.
Cory Barlog states that “in our God of War vs. PS5 Performance review, we said that “this PC port offers some nice boosts over the PS4 Pro release, it scales well, and although impactful on hardware, it does give you the choice of increasing resolution, quality, frame rates, and even aspect ratio over what Play Station consoles offer”.
